From my tastings this year, I’d say it’s tough to find wines worth drinking at under $10 a bottle.

Full-bodied, smooth and tannic, this wine is right up our alley. These twenty beauties are wines of real personality, no Stepford Wives of wine here, so cast caution aside, be brave and jump right in.Big and fat with ripe blackberries and dark cherries along with hints of Provence herbs like rosemary & thyme.A grown-up wine for the price, but I find myself saying that more and more about Italian wines. The bad, acidic plonk from Southern Europe has largely disappeared, as today’s consumers are demanding well-made wine that’s a pleasure to drink.And producers are responding.
There's an attractive edginess to balance the super-ripe fruit that one rarely finds in California Cabs at any price.The cherries, plums & chocolate are evocative of Porter's "Bright and crisp on first opening but even then with hints of earthy rusticality to come, and come, after an hour's breathing, it did.
