I always love and appreciate when there is a riddim, particularly one born within the last half-decade or so, which just, for one reason or another, sticks with me and remains one of my favourites. The Gang War is the head, in my opinion, of the new era of dancehall riddim production which features BIG and downright EVIL sounding riddims which are now becoming more and more popular (also see the Shootout, the Mission and a whole heap of riddims created by Big Ship's Stephen `di Genius' McGregor) these days, when you're looking for THE king of that style, check the Gang War and in a few years' time, it'll probably be a classic. The Jam Down is significant in several ways, for it also has gone to help further establish and highlight a label (the aforementioned Danger Zone) which I predict will continue to be a MAJOR player in reggae for years and years to come.

One of my more recent choices is definitely 2007's HUGE Gang War riddim from Baby G, my selection as the year's strongest riddim overall.
