The word "prime" is a quality grade given by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to describe the highest quality beef in terms of tenderness, juiciness and flavor. Vermont offers an agricultural bounty of flavorful produce, meat, dairy, and other food products that are staples on the Roots menu. This place is always a go to. However, we may have come at a bad time: the staff was running late, and the cook had left the gas on all night.
Service was extremely slow.We had a bad experience dining at roots. When we went to order, they were sold out of staple items on their menu. You…" We pride ourselves on only center cut beef and cooked at 1800 degrees to ensure our guests the best product possible. Not sure how this is 3.5 stars. Contact the business for more information about recent service changes. How is this business handling reopening? I hope they get their situation rectified. The reason I am writing this review is due to their incompetent valet service. This is my fourth time here, and yet again the service and chefs seemed to miss the ball.
ENJOY! My first issue wasn't the food but the service. It is among the top 2% of cattle. Food is always excellent and prepared as asked.
However, was served the absurd news of prime rib being out when we were actually ordering.
But pricey of course.
Have come here multiple times and am finally leaving a review. First time at this place with the large group of friendsThis is the best stake house in town(and only in town). I don't know why they have a 3.5 star rating. Kevin at the bar is a MUST!!! Understood the limited availability, I have made several phone calls prior to confirm - before I head to the restaurant, at the door and when I was first seated.
However the food was very disappointing.
On my second trip and many since…""I would give this place a 5 but just had the weirdest experience, it's Tuesday and…""This is one of those spots that you'd wish did not need to have a web presence. I know to some people that's a bad idea, but this place is awesome. The phenomenal birthday dinner started as soon as we entered. Real Beer. The Kansas Steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the lobster was great too! This is my fourth time here, and yet again the service and chefs seemed to miss the ball. At this point it looks like if we come back it will only be for drinks and dessert. Best steak that I recall having in a long time. It was a busy night but the staff was very attentive.First and foremost, Joey is an amazing waiter. Prepare to be wow-ed.Really wanted to like this place. I requested to not roll my window down (even had a sticker over the switches to avoid the confusion) but they did anyway. The vault that held all of the mink coats still remains a part of the location.
Don't leave without getting the butter cake and a barrel aged Manhattan. We brought another couple with us this evening and the food took an abnormal amount of time to arrive. It was my father-in-law's 75th and they just couldn't get their act together. Craft Roots is locally owned and family friendly.
I hope they get their situation rectified. Welcome to Roots Restaurant: Real Food. Roots’ mission is to create delicious food from fresh, local ingredients. However, the restaurant realized their mistakes and really went above and beyond to correct it. I would recommend the thick cut bacon with the maple syrup sauce as an appetizer and the carrot tower for dessert.
My girlfriend and I have been die hard prime rib fans and were thrilled for the night. Prefer open table but at least an option.
The Root Restaurant that helped make a star of Chef James Rigato has been sold to owner …
My parents had Roots steak before in their Morristown location so they knew it was good steak and high prices, but it was well worth it! Service was fast and friendly…
