One month we’re required to do a certain number of hours of sports in order for our pay to remain the same; the next month we’re NOT required to do a certain number of sports hours.

I was happy and thought I would retire from Vitac. Our mission is to serve the DHOH community and see you value the same.

When co-workers complained about not having enough hours at times that fit into their schedule, the COO responded (not making this up) that Vitac’s schedule runs from 4 am to 4 am the next day and that we should be able to find the shows that we need during that time-- essentially saying we should be willing to work 24 hours a day to make the hours we need. Management changes the rules frequently -- one month employees’ performance is tied to pay, the next month they’ve changed their mind and it’s NOT tied to pay. Levels are reviewed regularly to ensure all captioners are at the appropriate level, and which provide the opportunity to progress in the company and increase individual remuneration
