The swap is currently at about 98%. I believe the engine is a 2.6 L (4ZE1) I-TEC fuel-injected engine and it's a manual transmission. I need to get this sluggish engine out and swap with some real power, but i wanna make sure this is all legit and wont be too much of a headache for the mechanic who decides to take this on for me.. Any advice, tips etc relating to the 2.6l would be extra helpful. (or maybe i just got lost in the endless readings of the threads) I even noticed someone making a comment that it wont bolt it in as easily as it does with the 6cyl. The bell housings on the trannies are different which is why you can't find much about people swapping out a 2.6L. Hey Guys- I have a 1988 Isuzu trooper with the original 4 cylinder engine. I have a 99 trooper that I was initially going to find a replacement 6cyl to replace the problematic, oil burning 3.5. wanted the v6 for the decent feul milage, as this was my work truck/tool hauler. Most here are running the 260 torque cam. They recently stopped making them. Delta cam makes 2 cams for these engines.

The goal here is a trooper that can keep up with the broncos and other mud slinging machines. 270 is higher rpm cam.
