But there I was, left without a single word of conclusion, merely incriminated vehemently for being someone that eats meat.Earthlings, if you can't already tell, is an exposé on animal exploitation and the various commercial markets in which their qualities and substances are used. This movie illustrates very, very clearly, that there are acts of violence in this world that so many of use are contributing to, albeit unknowingly in many cases. Earthlings exposes the atrocities committed against animals, that if viewed in human terms would amount to the most evil crimes against humanity, and should (I hope someday will) be considered as such. It is an important and informative film, fueled by horrific images captured through an unflinching camera lens.
How and why what we eat is the cause of the chronic diseases that are killing us, and changing what we eat can save our lives one bite at a time. I'm going to go out on a limb here and criticize this movie quite a bit, so if you think a movie concerning a worthy cause must not be criticized please stop reading now :-) Split into five parts, Earthlings gets behind the workings of the main sectors of industry that use animals to reveal how they are treated as mere units of production, their sole purpose to ultimately provide income with no consideration towards their physical and mental wellbeing.

Using hidden cameras and never-before-seen footage, Earthlings chronicles the day-to-day practices of the largest industries in the world, all of which rely entirely on animals for profit. Also the meat industry urgently needs a re-haul. A rollercoaster of emotions if you can feel the tiniest bit of empathy. But I guess the fact that they can become numb to is means that there is probably no hope for these animals at all. And yes, chickens are cramped up in cages in shocking conditions before they are killed and put on a supermarket hot-chicken rotisserie. In effect, humans are engaging in speciesism on a global scale, that is, discrimination against all other species. It's absolutely brutal. Five stars because of the importance of the content. As a species we’re just completely fucked. As many other have stated about this film.
