I stuck mostly to the path at hand for the main story, but when I noticed a place with an unusually placed rockface or conveniently located broken staircase, my curiosity paid off by way of hidden treasures. When Borderlands 3 first revealed Bounty of Blood, its upcoming third DLC, it came with a surprising amount of new features. Like clockwork, Gearbox has been putting out meaty DLC releases for Borderlands 3, one of the few series left doing “traditional” DLC, albeit it has been paired with live events and other such games-as-service-y things. One unique thing about Borderlands 3 has been that its DLC so far has actually been stronger than much of the content of the base game, between While Bounty of Blood is probably the weakest of the three Borderlands 3 DLCs so far, that doesn’t mean it isn’t worthwhile, and I would still recommend it for any active player. Unlike the previous two DLCs, Bounty of Blood almost feels like an original side story. If you have no problem with that, then the Narrator is a great addition to the story. I don't remember getting so many in the previous DLC, and as a sucker for arbitrary in-game cosmetic items I was delighted.Likewise, Boss fights in Bounty of Blood's story are nicely paced and never feel overwhelming or beyond the realm of possibility to solo. I managed to score orange-rarity loot drops well before the end of the story, and letting me use those fancy new toys for the final battle was a nice touch. The Vault Hunter is, of course, present and accounted for but aside from them, everyone you meet in Bounty of Blood is brand-new.

It's enough to get a rough idea of their backstory and their general mannerisms, though not quite enough to develop them as anything more than a trope.
