Boneworks feels like a really amazing tech demo. If you hit it hard and fast, you can beat the game in 6hrs. That said, the Workshop has a lot of potential for the future.I agree, Alyx is a fantastic game but the gameplay and replay ability of Boneworks is much betterI got HL:A recently after playing Boneworks for a fair while and I have to say that there is nothing else as immersive as Boneworks just because you can interact with absolutely everything in your environment in a realistic way. It demonstrates most of, if not all of the physics possibilities with current tech. I didn't even realize there was a story in Boneworks until coming here to find the fix for an in game problem and seeing others talk about how they didn't know there was a story. The jankiness of the game is overcome by how incredibly immersive and fun it is. The movements, the interactions, the puzzles. It's in depth and crazy and figured a way to make everything happen but, it's lacking that well rounded, tested, and polished surface that makes it perfect. Can’t really compare, they both shine in completely different ways. Now, if I just hand something over the my RPG and Java Programmers and tell them to go to town, they will make some of the most amazing things. And i have seen a dozen streamers do the same thing.Which game has more replay value: I am going to say Boneworks. Boneworks' ambitious physics simulation of everything is a lot of VR fun when you get creative with it, but doesn't always work as well as you'd hope.Assassin's Creed: Valhalla Director Steps Down After Impropriety AllegationsGTA Radio Host and Veteran Writer Leaves Rockstar After Nearly 20 YearsWB Games Montreal's New Project to Debut at DC FanDome And then it was tested some more. It'c clunky and awkward all across the board. I can see why those who want the most physical interactions possible would love it but, that's really all it has to offer at this point. Dynamically navigate through environments, engage in physics heavy combat, and creatively approach puzzles with physics. Taking it from old school green screen to a more modern pretty interface that anyone can easily use. It just isn’t the same in HL:A. Alyx does have amazing graphics and story and is a lot more polished in general (because of the size of the dev team) but I find that immersion is easily broken when climbing ladders, going through small holes (where you have to teleport) and also only your hands have full physics interactions instead of your full body like in Boneworks.Overall though, Boneworks just has more freedom and let’s you be more creative which Is another area that Alyx fall short in.I am in a fortunate position where I actually started both of these at the nearly the same time.

Not to mention, Boneworks is about as optimized as Crysis. I have had my headsets so long it's easy for me to go months without playing but since Boneworks came out it really revitalized my love of VR. Gets bigger content every month or so with new arena sandbox’s or weapons. So I will break it down into very simple categories.More fun is kind of subjective. Then, it's done. Has a really good story you just need to put the pieces together or watch a story explainers n YouTube. There’s plenty to be desired in terms of story, level design, and even the physics simulations that it so heavily leans on, but Boneworks is awesomely interactive, engaging, and has tons of replayability potential. Made it nearly impossible to be fully immersed in the game. Nothing like being a 6'3 210lb man that can chop a tree down without a problem but, picking up an axe in game results in me moving my hand forward in real life and then my in game hand moves forward half as fast and goes all wonky because apparently a 15lb axe is too heavy for a grown man. And, I think this is why they pulled back from having so much interactions and such. Hl alyx for me is the first AAA vr game and its mindblowing. That said, more isn't always better. It just doesn’t have all the fun mechanics boneworks has.Boneworks: has more replay ability better soundtrack has more fun mechanics.

By a significant margin.

HLA has workshop maps I know, but most of the current ones are just bland, boring, or just bad. merry amsterdam. Hopefully someone will have a fix soon.~Which has the better performance and plays on more systems: I think is a given by now but, it's HL: Alyx. There’s some meat on these bones. But they have since improved the boneworks melee system so it’s even more fun than beforePress J to jump to the feed. Very few games ever hit the market with such little problems.
