Located on Princeton's beautiful campus - come dine at Harvest Restaurants fourth Roots location! on this occasion, I ordered takeout. Went on a Friday night to get take out. House bbq all the way and same goes for the bread. Reservations. Was at Roots yesterday for a late lunch, since they were booked "solid" for dinner. Smart casual. What safety measures are they taking?

I asked her about the tuna and she described how it was prepared but in the end I decided against it (definitely will try it soon!). I only like "medium rare" meat when I dine out, and as such Roots performed admirably with both meats. With four locations in Summit, Ridgewood, Morristown, and Princeton. I made reservations and thank god because they were PACKED and it was a Monday lol we were seated in two minutes and again even though they were packed it did not delay the food.

However the winner of the night was their NJ burrata and OMG it's  was banging. Roots is the steakhouse for you! Whenever I go to a steakhouse I always order their creamed spinach and whipped potatoes. I'm sure a meal for one costs about what I paid for a suit here in the late 1980s (When Roots was an esteemed haberdashery for men). Menu was super over priced and I eat out regularly. All of food selections were hot and cooked as requested [medium rare burger, medium scallops], no small feat with take out. Dinner.

Had the dry aged Kansas City and my wife the petite prime New York Strip both medium rare, totally nailed it as always. They got how we want our steak wrong.

The crab cake was pure lump crab though and through. There are plenty of metered spots within walking distance of the restaurant. Didn't order steak and seafood during the same visit.My son and I had gone in August as a going back to college dinner! It's upsetting when reviews are written by "delicate foodies" or people who expect the "seas to part" when they arrive. We ordered the lobster bisque, caesar salad, 8 oz. Great service and they always make a special occasion memorable.I had one of the best pieces of bacon in my life here. I remembered Roots and was so happy. The waiter advised me they did not...Four of us had a great dinner. My son was super happy to have such a great meal before eating cafeteria food:) For appetizer's we had the shrimp cocktail,...The atmosphere and service is terrific - along with great food served fresh and hot with steaks and filet mignon a specialty. Seafood dishes were excellent.

NYC prices in NJ, ridiculous. We were so impressed. Their steaks never disappoint. AMAZINGGGG as always. Although we didnt have dessert because we were so full but next time I will try it out.

I will admit, during normal times I am reluctant to tip for takeout. Due to the coronavirus we planned a small family gathering in Gillette. Just left a bad taste in my mouth. Price including a bottle of $75 wine? 866. It is great to see thigs moving back to normal.Roots is back. The wood surroundings are beautiful and inviting. But yeah, this was one of the best meals I had in a very long time.

There food were DELICIOUS and the price was very reasonable for this type of restaurant. It was mine and my dad's first time ever at a Roots while my Mom and boyfriend both been to Morristown, both of them said that the location in Summit beyond exceeds Morristown for both food, atmosphere, and service. The meals were as delicious as if we were dining there! Great staff and bartenders with top shelf wines and liquors.This is a very high-end experience and the execution just did not measure up. The calamari was perfectly breaded and the accompanying cherry peppers were the best I have ever had. I am not a fan of outdoor dining however Roots seems to have streamlined this process as I have no complaints about eating here outside.
