Starting from the parking lot for the Circle V Camp, you’ll take a short trip on a dirt road, over Tequepis Creek, and through a large metal gate that marks the boundary of the Los Padres National Forest.

"Icky" (in my mind) equates to mold and mosquitoes, which I didn't feel like dealing with.

The kids enjoyed playing on the boulders. You’ll find everything from easy, flat paths through manicured gardens to difficult climbs that reach towering heights over the Pacific. It was worth every muscle in my bone to get up there... Nice hike very close to downtown Santa Barbara. The trailhead is located at the edge of Lake Cachuma, about a half hour’s drive northwest of downtown on the north side of the Santa Ynez Mountains. Moreover, huge boulders were falling off the mountain peaks as I crawled and climbed my way around the wreckage of trees and branches.Great hike. You’ll eventually make your way up to the exposed ridge, where the hard climbing begins.You can’t go wrong at any place named Inspiration Point. I vaguely recalled the trail BUT I could never forget about those beautiful, unique swimming pools which took a little bit of bouldering to get up to. The 2,458-foot Gaviota Peak is an excellent challenge for those who want a more serious hike.

They got us set up, and away we went! Would like to come back with my Keen shoes when there are pools of water. The The Tequepis Trail is another challenging hike that features a high elevation gain in a relatively short distance. The 2.2-mile hike to Tangerine Falls has everything a hiker could want — an exceptional waterfall, plenty of shade, a soothing creek, ocean views, a bit of off-trail rock hopping, and scrambling.

Worth a visit but may have to wait for a recent rain if you wanna see fallsParking along the Tunnel Road was packed in the afternoon. The pools and falls are ample right now so go now to see it!Great hike overall but the reason I'm leaving a review is because most other reviews and/or blogs were not specific enough as far as knowing which way 7 Falls  and which way Inspiration Point actually is once at the trailhead.A fun hike. I'm writing this because not all wildlife is respected, as recently a beheaded mountain kingsnake was discovered here, one of the most elusive animals in SB county, likely killed by a human. The sulfur-tinged water isn’t overly hot, and the pool isn’t very deep, but it does offer a nice feeling when you drop your feet in.Where else can you find more than 1,000 native California plant species all within walking distance? The hike to inspiration point was beautiful. Nice hike very close to downtown Santa Barbara. On a recent trip to Santa Barbara, I followed local photographer Blake Bronstad to a hidden hiking trail leading to the most breathtaking view of Santa Barbara I’ve ever seen. There were no signs at all that said 7 Falls other than what someone had written in pen on one of the fire hazard signs. But after a good amount of rain, the Falls blooms into the most beautiful waterfall in Santa Barbara.

Put on your hiking boots and get ready to venture into a world of excitement! I wish there was more water flowing. But unfortunately that's about it.This is beautiful hike with breathtaking views of Santa Barbara! We came in end of Dec so the creek was mostly dried. My husband and I gave up after the path became too confusing. The city is tucked between the Pacific and the Santa Ynez Mountains, which run east to west through the Los Padres National Forest, creating a postcard-perfect backdrop for this coastal retreat.But more importantly for hikers, it features some amazing trails to explore. It's all side street dirt parking & it can get packed...so you may need to park a ways before the trailhead.
